Patrick DHEUR concert pianist and composer
Patrick Dheur was trained in Belgium at the Royal Conservatoire of Liège, his native city.
Patrick DHEUR developed his artistry with the grand masters of the piano world, such as Nikita MAGALOFF in Geneva and Léon FLEISHER in the USA
After winning the Szymanowski competition First Prize, he embarked upon an international career which is leading him with unfailing success around the world. He has performed in the largest concert halls, in recital or accompanied by great orchestras such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Soloists and Yuri Bashmet, the Symphony Orchestras of Norfolk, Springfield, Hong Kong, Jerusalem, Wiener Sinfonietta, Caracas, Grenoble, Bucarest, Skopje Brussels...... Patrick DHEUR is regularly invited as member of the jury of international piano competition in France, Spain, Portugal and the United States.
Patrick DHEUR has recorded, for the first time in the world, the complète works for piano of César FRANCK. Consisting of three albums - including one with the Royal Opera Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Roger ROSSEL (Symphonic Variations and the Djinns) - this complète work includes, alongside the great works of FRANCK, six world premières. (produced by Recital Company Productions and distributed by SONY Classical) His complete discography has 20 Cds which covered a impressive repertoire from Bach to Alfred Schnittke
Patrick DHEUR wrote a book ( French) about his musical life and experience which came out to the editor Luc Pire and was a big success. It's an original piece of literature where the pianist explains his life and thoughts in language that is accessible to all. The book contains a CD of a recital dedicated to Franz Liszt with the impressive Sonata in b minor.
His interest in historical pianos led him to release a CD entitled " Voyage de Liège à Paris " performed on a " Serrurier Bovy " piano. He made another recording on the 1868 "Hertz" piano in Modave Castle.
In 2010 he gave concerts on the Grétry and Jean-Jacques Rousseau's square piano ( Zumpe-Buntebart ( 1768).
Patrick DHEUR is the scientific consultant of the historic pianos of the City of Liège and as such made numerous publications
ln addition to his pianistic skills, he is also an accomplished composer and
wrote recently "The Rotarian Symphony." He wrote different piece as Cantates, Concertos, and chamber music. His big Oratorio "Evangile de Saint -Jean" for soprano baryton choir and orchestra is now available on CD.
In 2010 the Royal chamber orchestra of wallonia (belgium) has recorded differents pieces for string orchestra written by Patrick Dheur especially his double concerto for Clarinet, piano and orchestra with Ronald Van Spaendonck as clarinet soloist and Patrick Dheur as piano soloist. It is now available on Cd on the label OBC International
Patrick Dheur is Musical Director of several concerts series in Liège (President of the Grétry Muséum) , Castle of Modave and "Festival Musique à la source" of Chaudfontaine (Belgium).
